Gym Class Heroes & The Dirty Heads
Does anyone like concerts? I know I do! The group, Gym Class Heroes, is well known for their hit single “Stereo Hearts”. If you are interested, they will be playing on Sunday, October 30 at 6:30 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, MI.  The band, The Dirty Heads, is also going to be apart of the concert. The category of music that these two groups perform is alternative rock. Alternative rock started to emerge in the 1980s and is mixed together with various subgenres.

Gym Class Heroes
The group was formed back whenTravie McCoy met the drummer Matt McGinley in high school. It was then when they decided that they were going to form a band together. Later down the road the guitarist, Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo, and bassist, Eric Roberts, when they became an actual band. Record label Fueled by Ramen signed the group shortly after and came out with their debut album. There debut album was title The Papercut Chronicles

The Dirty Heads
Like the Gym Class Heroes, two of the band members in The Dirty Heads met in high school. Jared and the guitarist, Dustin, met in Orange County, CA at a party freshman year of high school. There was a storyline being how they got their name. The got their name because they were caught stealing a 12-pack of beer, and whoever they stole the beer from yelled at them saying “Come here you little dirty heads!”

Royal Oak Music Theatre
John H. Kunsky first opened the theatre in 1928. It was originally going to open up just as a movie theatre, but soon also had live music and comedy shows. In 2004, Worldwide Entertainment bought it, and soon also put on Broadway shows. The theatre can hold up to 1700 people maximum.
